I am curious if degragging the storage drives and / or the parity drive causes any issues.
As an aside, I would have searched the forum first, but there does not appear to be a search function!

Defragmenting a drive should have no impact on disParity. It's not aware of things at the level that defragmenting operates.
Yeah, this old version of bbpress I'm still using doesn't have a search feature. But you can always use Google:
