disParity in Linux

    Hey,

I've started ordering parts to build a "server" to house my ever growing array of drives. As I was buying the parts I thought why not make the server my HTPC as well, I didn't see the point in spending twice the amount of money if I could do it all in one.

Any how, my dilemma is now this, I want to run XBMC (Xbox Media Center) on my "server", but I need to run Linux for the hardware acceleration support (windows version of XBMC doesn't support hardware graphics acceleration). disParity is obviously windows based, the only thought I had is running a VM in linux and running windows with disParity, but I get a feeling this wouldn't be the safest route, in theory I think it should work fine, but I can just see something blowing up in my face here.

    What do you guys think?

I know there are other options for Linux: FreeNAS (freeBSD based, I need linux), unRAID (not free), FlexRAID (I'm still looking at this as another option, anyone have any experience with it?). I really like the simplicity of disParity, and I know it works fine.
