OK folks, it's still far from perfect, but I've decided it's time to put out an early beta of the new UI version of disParity I've been working on. I realized I could go on tweaking and tweaking it forever and never actually release anything...so it's time to bite the bullet and make this happen.

First thing I saw : on my windows 7 I had to run the software as administrator otherwise the program stop before to display anything.
Except that, importation OK and the scan did saw files I've just added or deleted on two of them :)

thanks for your feedback about running as non-administrator. There's nothing I can think of that disParity does that requires running as administrator, so this seemed odd to me. I do normally run as admin myself, so I set up a new non-admin Windows 7 user account, installed the beta and tried running disParity from the non-admin account. I didn't see the problem you mention where the program stops before showing anything. It seemed to run normally for me.
If you look in the folder C:\Users\(username)\Application Data\Local\disParity, is there a file there called "crash.txt"?
Hi, no crash.txt, it may be due to "my" windows 7 installation I always have strange things on my computers ;)
What is stranger is that now I've done an update (and maybe now I have a valid config file) I removed the "run as admin" and the program starts ........
My update ran telling me nicely in the disk's bars what it was doing.
-> "8.4TB protected"
One cosmetic remark : when I try to enlarge the window to see more informations about the activity, the columns for disks names and "activities" remains the same sizes (window is always cut in half) It would be nice to keep the right column more large as it shows more informations (files path are sometimes very long ;) but it is not very important as we have logs after the job.
I will now test adding another disk ...
Those columns actually are supposed to resize when you resize the main window. I've seen a glitch happen once or twice where they don't. I think it only happens when the system is under heavy load, as if Windows Presentation Foundation (the .NET UI layer which automates the resizing and other UI layout stuff) seems unable to keep up.
Can you try resizing the main window again, maybe when no update is running, and tell me if the columns still don't adjust?
They adjust perfectly, no glitch for me, I just say their sizes could be differents, more large for the activity informations and less for the disks names.
If I want to re create the parity, what is the button ? (for now I think I have to delete the old one)
There's currently no way to re-create the parity from scratch from the UI (it's on the to-do list.) You'll have to go to the parity drive itself and delete files*.dat and parity*.dat, then restart the app. Then hit the Update button.
