Bad month for me.
I have had three hard drives die (3rd one died last night)
So far, recovery function has worked without a hitch (last drive is currently recovering with several hours to go).
Hopefully, this is the last drive to die (I had purchase 3 Seagate drives 5 years ago and they all died this month - thank goodness the warranty had expired and I had to go out and buy new ones - isn't that how it always goes?)
I've also had a couple of 5+ year old Seagates go bad recently.
My personal feeling is that even if they were still under warranty I wouldn't bother. Those old drives were only 1TB and my problem now is that drive bays are at a premium, so I look at an old drive failing as an opportunity to increase the total storage of my array by replacing it with a new drive that's 3X or 4X as large.
