Turkey Tour 2004

From Kusadasi we took day trips to Ephesus, Miletus, and Didyma. Ephesus is one of the world's major archaeological excavations.

The focal point of Ephesus is the free-standing façade of the great two-story Celsus Library.

It also features a 25,000-seat amphitheater.

The bus took us up to the Basilica of St. John,

with a view of the fortress.

Then back down to the museum to see artifacts from the site,

including a statue of multi-breasted Artemis.
