The ancient port of Miletus is now marooned about five km. inland due to silt deposited by the Meander River; it remains marshy and partly submerged.
We walked around its amphitheater,
and the ruins of the huge Roman Baths of Faustina...
...but we viewed the Byzantine fortress on the acropolis above the theater only from a distance.
